There are presently no open calls for submissions.
The purpose of the Access_&Design Program is to identify and support emerging underinvested Black, Latinx, and Indigenous Designers with a passion to make positive change within their communities as well as the creative industry.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must be over 18 years old, fluent in English, and currently reside in the United States—you do not have to be a U.S. citizen.
- You must be a member of the Black, Latinx, and/or Indigenous community.
- At least one (1) of the following must apply to you:
- Be currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at 4-year accredited college/university within the U.S.
- Have completed a Certification Program (i.e. General Assembly), graduated from a 2-year Institution (i.e. Community College) with a major in a creative field of study between May 2017 and July 2020
- Have completed a 4-year College/University with a major in a creative field of study between May 2017 and July 2020.*
- For non-degree or self-taught applicants: you must between the ages of 18–26 years old, with no more than 5 years of experience.
*Note: Graduate students and individuals with Graduate+ level degrees are not eligible.
Fellowship Commitments
- You must be able to commit 2–5 hours per month to attend video calls, project development, etc. from September 2020 to July 2021.
- You can miss no more than 3 calls without prior notice.
- You're expected to check in regularly with your near-peer mentor.
- You're expected to be an active participant in the Justice Reform & Racial Equity Social Projects.
- You're expected to uphold &Design's Code of Conduct.
